How do you like to see your helmets placed down on the ground? How do you instruct your participants to set down their helmets (if you don't have a place to hang them up off the ground)?
When you answer, please provide the reason for your choice - why do you want the helmet placed down in your preferred way?

Tony, thanks for sharing. I appreciate the simple understandable phrasing - we certainly don't want a 'dead' turtle (everyone I know like turtles). There's also the emotional connection to the phrases. Happy feels good, dead, not so good. So, we lean towards the good.

A "happy turtle" can resist being stepped on. "Dead turtles" can crack. I've heard (but haven't tried) testing this on a retired helmet. If anyone has tried a stress-to-failure demonstration, I'd like to hear how it was done safely (and dramatically).
