Exploring Islands of Healing - This is a book that influenced Scott's adventure education journey. Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman - This is one of the ground-breaking books about EI. Lot's of research findings to support the value of EI. Project Adventure - Lots of good workshop opportunities, both in person and online. This is where Scott took his first workshop in Adventure Education. Wild Woosey/Relationship Walk - this is one of the activities Scott talked about during the episode. Scott frontloads the activity by asking about positive behaviors in relationships - participants are asked to think about the answers to this question "on the walk down" to the element where they share answers. Then, they participate in the element and during the processing session talk about how and when the relationship behaviors showed up during the experience. Here's a picture of the Wild Woosey:

Word Circle Puzzles - This is an introduction to word circle puzzles. Check out the FUNdoing.com/store for the Word Circle Puzzles Starter Kit and the Assets Package to Circle Puzzles you can present virtually - both word and picture circle puzzles. Traffic Jam - This is a pretty popular problem-solving activity for groups safely distancing. The link gets you to the basics - then, just be sure to space the spots 6-feet apart. Poly Spots - Dave tells us these spots 'saved' him. They are easy to clean, very visible and indestructible! (They are an investment, but they will last forever!) Number Squares - Dave talked about this activity in the episode. It's a puzzle included in the Team Building with Puzzles online course (available through the end of 2020). It is not sold separately at this time. (But, do keep an eye on the FUNdoing Store just in case.) ZOOM - A good activity while distancing, but you will need to keep an eye on the interaction to keep participants aware of their spacing. HERE'S a video with a ZOOM variation. Adventure Learning Programs at the University of Wisconsin Madison (You can see Mo up by the white board at the ALPs web page!) NOTE: Using these books for the Communication activity is a high level challenge. (I, Chris, have yet to use these books. I am very interested in talking with facilitators who have.) ZOOM Communication Activity basics ZOOM On the Spot Variation (video) mentioned in the episode Reality Check 1 & 2 - Here is another ZOOM-like option from Metalog Training Tools. They are an investment, but a pretty cool alternative set of cards/pages. (NOTE: If you look closely at all the pictures on the site, you can actually connect both sets into a full circle configuration.) Traffic Jam - Mo mentioned using this activity, just make sure the spots are 6-feet apart. And, she set up more of a 'V' shape so it was easier for her participants to communicate. Processing Ideas: Body Part Debriefing - Place the parts in the center of a safely distanced circle of people. They can call out a part and talk about the connection. Climer Cards (or any image cards) - Laminate the cards before play so you can disinfect them after the program.

Brene' Brown's Podcast - Such an amazing person. Her podcast content does no disappoint! Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High - This is a book Chris mentioned in relation to "Silence or Violence" and "The Path to Action." Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action, by Simon Sinek - The idea of sharing the 'why' behind what we do was mentioned during the episode. This book brings more clarity to why we start with why.
