We must learn to challenge systems, challenge institutional injustices, and more. We must do our part to show up, speak up, and not tolerate hate and injustice. Be brave. Be bold. Be inspirational. Now is the time for new changes and transformations. In the process, reach down deep to share empathy. Be patient with yourself and each other. These ideas are about making ongoing connections as opposed to an organized team building program (and those are good too). Nose Glasses - Hide the glasses in common staff hang outs. If someone finds them they are 'challenged' to wear them in public for a while (e.g., 30-minutes). (Thanks to Chris' friends from Beber Camp for this idea.)
Slang Flash Cards - Pick a slang word and try to use it during the day.
Clothespin Compliments - Write uplifting compliments or wishes on a wooden clothespin and secretly clip them on to someone without being detected. This person acknowledges the complement and then clips it on to someone else - passing it along. (Examples: You're Awesome; You're Appreciated; You're a Star!; Thank You!; Have Fun; Be Brave; Have a Great Day.) Mail Box Messages - Put little notes of appreciation and affirmation or little gifts (e.g., smiley face ball) in staff mailboxes. Post-It Note Messages - Slap a Post-It Note of inspiration somewhere for staff to see. Mail a Letter or Postcard - When's the last time you received a letter or postcard in the mail? This can be a fun surprise. (The Postcard link goes to Inspirational Postcard packs from Amazon.) Make a Tool - Make something for a team building colleague they can use during their programs. (Examples: A set of Quote Cards; A Yarn Ball; A small processing bag with metaphorical items.) The Dollar Store Challenge - As a staff, set a $5 limit per person to purchase things at a dollar store for a team building activity and then lead it at a staff meeting. To make it easier, pair up staff to work together on an activity. An Interesting Outing - Go to an interesting event that will stimulate a growth opportunity for your team. How can what you experience influence something you do with your clients?

Search Amazon for 'Tennis Balls' to find all sorts of colors for more visual appeal. One Tennis Ball - This is a FUNdoing Blog post with 8 activities you can do with one tennis ball. It includes: Toss-A-Name Game and Don't Touch Me (mentioned in the show). 7-Up - Here's a write up at the Training Wheels Blog Snowball Pick-N-Choose - Another FUNdoing Blog post. Change out the gear to Tennis Balls and Buckets when you have the room to store everything. Insanity - This one is described in Episode #72 (you just need to add some hula-hoops). Grouping - You can number and letter 26 tennis balls and use them to create groups. Building Words - Use 26 letters (A to Z). Hand out all the vowels and then let the remainder of the group pick consonants (if you have a smaller group, everyone can pick up two tennis balls). Challenge the group to get everyone into a word - three or more letters long. Obstacle Field (a.k.a., traditionally know as 'Mine Field') Use the tennis balls as obstacles. You'll need a long activity rope (about 50-feet). Scatter the tennis balls around inside a big rope circle. Then pair up players. One sighted player, staying outside the circle, verbally guides an unsighted player, staying inside the circle, across the circle without touching any of the tennis balls (or other people inside the circle). Stop-N-Go - Three tennis balls, Red, Yellow and Green. Used for frontloading and processing experiences. The link goes to a description at the Training Wheels store.
